Smartphone screen glass molding

When talking about the smartphone screen, most focus on the resolution, size, material, colors and brightness, but seldom pay attention to the screen glass. 

The smartphone screen glass is mainly used in the smartphone touch screen. It is akind of tempered glass. Every year, about one billion dollars are spent on the repair of screen. Most of the flagship high-end smartphones adopt Corning Gorilla Glass as the screen glass protective layer. It is a kind of tempered glass. 

 

The molding process of smartphone screen glass is similar to the molding of hot bending glass: 

(1) First, cut and clean the glass sheet. 

(2) Put the glass sheet on the surface of glass mould. 

(3) Heating in the high temperature kiln to soften glass.

(4) Glass deforms and sinks and then completely fits the mold.

(5) Insulate the glass and cool it to obtain curved glass with the same curvature to that of the mold surface.
