Properties and uses of zircon refractory bricks

Zircon refractory brick is an acid refractory brick, which is characterized by strong slag resistance, small thermal expansion rate, thermal conductivity decreasing with increasing temperature, high load softening temperature, wear resistance and good thermal shock resistance.

When used, the zircon refractory brick has high refractoriness and is not easily dissolved by the chemical attack of the slag, but the slag can penetrate into the brick through the pores and react with the decomposed zircon particles to form a metamorphic layer. The refractory brick structure is collapsed. In order to improve the use effect of the zircon refractory brick, it is necessary to reduce the permeability of the slag. In the actual production, the porosity of the refractory brick product can be reduced, and the high-aluminum gentleman or the fused alumina can be added into the zircon stone to form the zirconium aluminum refractory brick. Improve the anti-penetration of the product. When chromium oxide is added to the zircon stone, the degree of refractoriness is slightly lowered. Zirconium aluminum bricks have improved in slag resistance, but slag corrosion resistance is still poor. Chromium oxide can be added to the refractory brick to enhance the corrosion resistance of the substrate.
Zircon refractory bricks have good corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance to slag and molten steel, and are suitable for working under reduced pressure. They are widely used in the metallurgical industry for the construction of degassing ladle, and also for Stainless steel ladle lining, continuous casting ladle inner village, cast brick, plug brick, sleeve brick and high temperature induction furnace furnace village.

Zircon refractory bricks are highly resistant to acid slag and glass and are therefore widely used in severely damaged areas of glass kiln. Zircon refractory bricks also have properties of not being impregnated with metal chromium, aluminum oxides and their slags, and thus have good effects on the furnace bottom for aluminum smelting. In addition, bismuth, tubes, boats, dishes, and experimental containers made of zircon are widely used in applications related to high temperatures.
