1 Fire resistance of alumina corundum brick
From the binary phase diagram of Al2O3 -Cr2O3, it can be seen that Al2O3 and Cr2O3 can form continuous solid solutions without the generation of eutectics. Therefore, the addition of Cr2O3 to high-purity corundum materials, regardless of the amount of addition, will not only reduce the fire resistance of the material, but will increase the fire resistance of the material. The chrome-corundum bricks have better fire resistance (> 1790 ℃) and softening temperature (> 1700 ℃) than high-purity corundum products.

 
2 Strength of corundum brick
The normal temperature compressive strength of high-purity corundum brick is generally 70 to 100 MPa, and the high-temperature chrome corundum brick's compressive strength at room temperature is generally> 150 MPa, and its strength is significantly higher than that of corundum brick. This is because during the firing of the product, Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solution is formed between the particles and particles, between the particles and fine powder, and between the fine powder and the fine powder. This solid solution connects the particles and fine powder like a bridge. Together, the strength of the material is greatly improved.
 
3 Thermal shock stability
According to data reports, when Cr2O3 is added to corundum, when the content of C r2O3 is 10% to 66%, the thermal shock stability of the material decreases with the increase of the content of C r2O3, that is, the chromium corundum brick with low content of C r2O3 has thermal shock Stability is better than chrome corundum brick with high Cr2O3 content. The Cr2O3 content of the high-performance chromium corundum bricks promoted and applied by our factory is between 12% and 20%, and its thermal shock stability is improved than that of corundum bricks; especially the AKZ-type chromium corundum produced by adding a small amount of phase-change additives. 4 Slag resistance
The solubility of various refractory oxides in molten coal slag: The solubility of Cr2O3 in coal gasification slag (SiO2-CaO series) and various glass melts is much smaller than the solubility of other oxide materials. Therefore, Cr2O3 or Cr2O3-containing refractories have good resistance to steel slag, non-ferrous smelting slag, coal gasification slag, oil and gas slag and various glass melt erosion capabilities. The viscosity of the liquid phase generated by the reaction of Cr2O3 melt or Cr2O3 with slag is higher than other low-melt viscosities, which prevents the slag from penetrating into the brick body along the capillary pores, and avoids the formation of metamorphic layers and structural spalling.
 
Corundum bricks with different Cr2O3 content and corundum bricks have different erosion depths by glass slag. The test shows that when Cr2O3 <17%, the higher the Cr2O3 content in the brick, the shallower the depth of glass slag intrusion.
 
Used in the iron and steel industry, the life of chrome corundum is more than double that of corundum, such as ladle breathable bricks, etc .; used in the non-ferrous smelting industry, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of corundum bricks are significantly better than other bricks; in carbon In the black industry, the use of corundum bricks has doubled the life of corundum bricks under the same conditions. The AK-type chrome corundum brick produced is used in the carbon black reactor of the carbon black plant, and its service life has exceeded that of corundum brick.
