Bending Process Of Hyperboloid Windshield Glass

Considering the aerodynamic efficiency, the comfort and safety of drivers, and structural stability and aesthetic requirements, the windshield glass of cars and airplaces is usually deisgned into hyperboloid. To achieve this shape, the windshield glass should be subjected to bending process. 

When producing windshield glass with two or more layers of laminated monolithic glass, in order to keep the uniformity of each monolithic glass, laminated hot bending technology is used. By laminated bending, shape, precision and optical quality of glass can be better guaranteed. 

 

Most windshield glass is made by heating flat glass to the point where it becomes soft but does not melt on the glass mold brick and then forming it to the desired shape by gradivity.  Glass with different thickness and curvature can not be placed in the same furnace. 

 

Since glass directly contact the surface of the mould brick and glass will be formed into the surface shape of the mould brick, the glass mould brick must meet the following requirements to produce high quality windshield glass with accurate shape and optical propeties: 

1) Its shaped line must match with the shaped line of finished products.

2) Its surface must be smooth without concaves, preiection or pocking marks.

3) It should have clear position line or positioning devices. 

 

Glass Mould Brick is Fired under the temperature of 1050 Degree. It is manufactured from micron grade material, which is pressed molding following being mixed by high speed blender. The maximum rod is 1000 with extremely fine section structure. It has low permanent linear change on reheating, which ensures no distortion and no permanent linear change on the Mould Brick. It has good Thermal Shock Stability and is easy to be machined. No cracks even chap would be happening after long service of the Glass Mould Brick.
